Q: Why do people book guided trips?

A: My short answer these days is to turn their brains off. Many people, especially women, carry numerous responsibilities - managing home life, work, family, and self-care. Having someone else take care of the logistics is invaluable. Some clients want to know every detail of the daily plan, while others just want to know when their flight arrives and what to pack. It's a gift to just show up and enjoy the adventure without planning it.

Q: Where do you go for your own vacations?

A: Recently, my best adventures have been family vacations. My father loves planning trips to places like Italy - I just show up at the airport and the next two weeks are taken care of. I've also done work travel with the Adventure Travel Trade Association, experiencing what it's like to be the client. Close to home in Bend, there are countless day adventures. My partner loves planning our road trips, which works perfectly for me.

Q: What's next for Adventurous Women?

A: Our next trip to Yellowstone in winter is already sold out. We're hosting an adventure retreat in Bend on Mother's Day weekend. These retreats are where we started - women stay at an outdoor hotel, enjoy catered meals, and try various activities. Everything's included once you arrive - transportation, guides, gear, wine tasting, and happy hours. Participants create their own schedules from different class options.

After that, we have three back-to-back trips to Europe - Portugal and Spain adventures with different styles. We're also returning to the Tour de Mont Blanc for those seeking a bucket list adventure.
